Update 6/20/2014: I've submitted Ð30700/$11 to the Solar Roadways project! https://twitter.com/bxm6306/status/479849135055831040
Let's support the Solar FREAKIN' Roadways Indiegogo campaign to move to the next prototype stage to build a parking lot! There's less than 8 days to go! EDIT: Their campaign has been extended by a month and ends June 20th.
Indiegogo Campaign: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/solar-roadways
Note: Ignore the campaign end date here on DogeRaiser, the funds will be transferred before the Indiegogo campain ends.
If we raise $100 we'll receive a personalized thank you video from the project creators, Scott and Julie. Here's the reward details:
Thank You Video for You - Now In a short (about 30 seconds) video filmed on the solar parking lot, Scott and Julie will thank you personally for your contribution and will send you the video within 24 hours, weather permitting. You can post on social media or wherever you'd like. If you email us immediately after your contribution, you can make a request for us to include special content (your favorite feature, a shout out to your environmental group, etc.). Send email to email@example.com
If we raise $500 we'll be able to get /r/dogecoin engraved into one of the mounting hole covers. Here's the reward description:
Your Name on our Parking Lot For your donation, we'll engrave your name or the name of your group or business on one of our 396 mounting hole covers. We'll place a photo of it on our website, where it will stay for at least one year and we'll send a photo to you. It will be filmed by the media and seen by visitors. Be part of history in the making!
Fun facts about Solar FREAKIN' Roadways: - Solar Roadways has received two phases of funding from the U.S. Federal Highway Administration for research and development of a paving system that will pay for itself over its lifespan. We are about to wrap up our Phase II contract (to build a prototype parking lot) and now need to raise funding for production.
Our glass surface has been tested for traction, load testing, and impact resistance testing in civil engineering laboratories around the country, and exceeded all requirements.
Solar Roadways is a modular system that will modernize our aging infrastructure with an intelligent system that can become the new Smart Grid. We won the Community Award of $50,000 by getting the most votes in GE's Ecomagination Challenge for "Powering the Grid" in 2010. We had the most votes again in their 2011 Ecomagination Challenge for "Powering the Home".
On August 21, 2013, Solar Roadways was selected by their peers as a Finalist in the World Technology Award For Energy, presented in association with TIME, Fortune, CNN, and Science.
Solar Roadways was chosen by Google to be one of their Moonshots in May of 2013.
Solar Roadways has given presentations around the country including: TEDx Sacramento, Google's Solve for X at Google's NYC Headquarters, NASA, Keynote Speaker for the International Parking Institute's Conference and much more...
Solar Roadways is tackling more than solar energy: The FHWA tasked us with addressing the problem of stormwater. Currently, over 50% of the pollution in U.S. waterways comes from stormwater. We have created a section in our Cable Corridors for storing, treating, and moving stormwater.
The implementation of our concept on a grand scale could create thousands of jobs in the U.S. and around the world. It could allow us all the ability to manufacture our way out of our current economic crisis.
WARNING: Anyone can create a campaign and start asking for dogecoin. Before you part with your dogecoin, go check out the contributor on social media and make sure they're real. Look for a link back to this campaign to make sure they're really who they say they are.
If you think it's a scam, mention @dogeraiser on twitter and include a link to the offending campaign. We're adding user flagging soon.
